It was announced earlier today that waterways on the Yamuna will be developed in order to connect Mathura and Vrindavan with a cruise service. This move comes in the wake of promoting religious tourism in the region. The experience of travelling via cruise is also expected to lure tourists visiting Agra to also visit Mathura.
The twin cities of Mathura and Vrindavan are famed for being the birthplace of Lord Krishna, and attract a large number of pilgrims and tourists every year. People who are keen to go on a short spiritual sojourn, these twin cities are their go-to place. And since the places of interest are not that far from each other, one gets to explore most of the attractions in just a day.
With this new development, it is expected that these destinations will be able to attract more tourists in the near future.
Chile’s Easter Island reopens to tourists after more than two years
The remote island of Rapa Nui, also known as Easter Island, has reopened to international travellers after being closed to tourists for more than two years. On 4 August, the Pacific island welcomed 230 tourists after 868 days of border closures due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
One of the world’s most isolated travel destinations, Rapa Nui is most famous for its ‘Moai’ guardian statues, ancestral figures carved from volcanic rock between 1250 and 1500 AD.
New Sleeper Train That Connects London & Stockholm in Less Than 24 hours to Start Operating From September
A new sleeper train that will connect London and Stockholm in less than 24 hours will start operating from next month, thus further facilitating the travel process.
According to Euronews, the EuroNight service will start running in September and will transport passengers from Stockholm to the German city of Hamburg, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports. The new train will cut train travel time between Sweden’s capital and London to roughly one day. The EuroNight train is powered by renewable energy; Swedish operator SJ only uses electricity from hydropower and wind turbines.
