Negroni | Cocktail With A Twist With Shatbhi Basu

Negroni Week 2021 is here. The annual booze fest, which is put on by Imbibe Magazine and Campari, encourages restaurants and bars around the world to pour Negronis for a good cause from September 13–19.

Now in its ninth year, Negroni Week has raised a whopping $3 million for charities that support the environment, immigrant rights, mental health, racial equality, education, animals and so much more.

Negroni Week is also a great time to try unique twists on the classic cocktail.

Bitter, sweet, dry, and refreshing all at once the perfect classic Negroni cocktail calls for a perfect balance: which means you use equal parts gin, vermouth, and Campari. Yes it’s really that simple. Just follow our recipe with a twist. #DrinkForACause and Thank us later.

25ml gin (Use London Dry Gin like Gordon’s. We have used Greater Than Gin, a London dry gin made in India)
25ml sweet vermouth
25ml Campari
Ice cubes
A slice of sweet lime for the garnish instead of the usual Orange peel (The Twist)

Pour the gin, vermouth, and Campari into a mixing glass with ice. Stir well until the outside of the glass feels cold.

Strain into a tumbler and add some large ice cubes, and garnish with a peel of sweet lime. Of course, you may use the traditional blood orange when in season.
