Zucchini Chips | Chef Manoj Chopra

What’s not to love about Zucchini chips. To start with they are healthier than Potato chips. They are easy to make. If you bake them instead of frying them, they can be a very healthy snack for those late evening hunger pangs. They are perfect for kids and adults alike, quite addictive if I may say. I love serving them as an appetizer, snack, or as a side to larger meals.

Ingredients and Method:

  • Slice Zucchini in thin slices by a knife , or on a mandoline slicer (buy on amazon) to get ridges as the photo
  • Sprinkle with salt & keep aside for 10 mins . They will let out water.
  • Dry thoroughly on a paper towel  ( this step will give a crispy end product)
  • Dust sliced zucchini with seasoned flour (seasoned with garlic salt , white pepper)
  • Dip in egg wash
  • Coat with fine breadcrumbs
  • Deep fry in hot oil till golden brown on both sides
  • Serve with a dip of sour cream (buy on amazon) crushed garlic, white pepper or mayonnaise and Sriracha ketchup (buy on amazon) mixed together

Note:

  • If you are vegetarian then instead of egg wash, dip the Zucchini in milk and then coat them with breadcrumbs before frying
  • If you are Vegan then use almond milk and then coat them with breadcrumbs before frying
  • If you are on a diet or generally eating clean, then instead of frying the chips, you can air fry them or bake them. Trust me, they will taste still as good like Zucchini.
