Cooking with my Mum and Grandmother was a huge part of my childhood and food was always something that brought the family together, especially at festival time! A well-laden table was the norm! The smells and flavours of my growing up years still linger in my kitchen today, as I cherish the special recipes handed down from mother to daughter through generations.

But I digress, armed with a degree in Hotel Management from the Bombay Catering college (batch of ‘79), I joined the ITC Group and spent the next 10 years in the Hospitality business based in the foodie heavens of Delhi and Bangalore. Working in ITC Hotels meant I was surrounded by excellence in food, restaurants and cuisines, all of which  kept my taste buds and passion in all things food alive!

I then spent a long time (no clues on age here!) in Sales and Marketing before heading Narrowcasters India as CEO since 2007 (we are the guys who do all the audio guides at historic sites across India). The wonderful thing about all my jobs has been travel! I have racked up thousands of air miles, crisscrossing the country, experiencing the sheer delights of almost every regional cuisine India has to offer and the inside of countless hotel rooms too!

The passion for food is matched only by my passion for travel and I have been lucky to have travelled the world. And here’s what I learnt, the best way to learn about a country, it’s people and its culture is through food and drink!! So, every landmark has been signposted with a bar and/or restaurant! And many a good time was had in doing so!

My gastronomic journey continues, cooking for friends, family and other unsuspecting victims, experimenting with the new but also taking comfort in the recipes handed down from both sides of the family. And of course, now with The Foodie Network, I have this amazing chance to share my gastronomic findings and learnings to a like-minded community.
