Visitors can now explore Longwood Reimagined: A New Garden Experience, a transformation of the most beautiful garden in the United States

Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, may hold the title of the most beautiful garden in the U.S., but it continues to strive for even greater heights. On November 22, this iconic destination, known for its stunning gardens, conservatories, and fountains nestled in the scenic hills south of Philadelphia, unveiled a remarkable $250 million expansion designed to captivate visitors for generations to come.

The project features a 32,000-square-foot conservatory that appears to float on water, housing a Mediterranean-inspired garden, along with a 12,000-square-foot bonsai courtyard, a stylish new restaurant with fountain views, a pavilion dedicated to Roberto Burle Marx’s Cascade Garden, and newly planted groves of trees.

Additional upgrades include revamped courtyards and indoor gardens, along with the opening of a new restaurant, 1906. Located in the Main Conservatory, this dining space offers breathtaking views of the iconic Main Fountain Garden.

The restaurant features an upscale American menu incorporating produce grown in Longwood’s on-site Ornamental Kitchen Garden, ensuring fresh and sustainable culinary offerings. The menu features unique dishes such as Flower Salad made with sunflower sprouts, bee pollen, and honey vinegar; a Chilled Seafood Tower including Maine lobster, scallop ceviche, Oishii shrimp, oysters, Manila clams, and Osetra caviar; and Sunflower Seed “Risotto,” crafted with ancient grains, cranberry, and a poached egg.
