All COVID-19 travel restrictions lifted in Oman

Oman Air confirmed that all COVID-19 precautionary measures in place at country’s airports have been lifted, as of 22 May 2022. Arriving international travellers no longer need to register through the eMushrif portal or undertake a PCR test before or upon arrival, as previously required. Furthermore, authorities have removed all quarantine requirements as well as the requirement to download the Tarassud+ Track & Trace application prior to departing for Oman.

South Korea to remove 7-day quarantine for unvaccinated foreign travellers from next week

In a bid to boost tourism, South Korea has announced the removal of a mandatory 7-day quarantine for unvaxxed international arrivals from June 8. As per the Transport Ministry, the move is also going to increase the number of arrival flights per hour to the pre-pandemic level of around 40 from the current 20. To meet the rising demand, the government will also remove the limited number on the weekly international flights from June 8 as the virus situation looks quite stable in the country.

Char Dham Yatra: Health check-up necessary for the journey now

As per a latest development, all pilgrims aged above 50, and suffering from other ailments going to Char Dham Yatra, will now be required to get their health check-up done. This move comes after an expert committee was constituted to assess the deaths of pilgrims during the yatra. It’s suggested that people should spend at least 20-48 hours during the journey on adapting to a particular location, and then only proceed further. Also for the first time, specialist doctors have been posted in major hospitals on the Yatra route to provide proper treatment to those suffering from heart ailments. These have been put into place since Char Dham shrines are located in high altitude areas, and often pilgrims with comorbidities face health hazards after getting exposed to extreme cold conditions.
