Simpson’s-in-the-Strand that featured in the highly acclaimed British TV series Downton Abbey is one of London’s oldest traditional English restaurants, dating back to 1828. Situated in the Strand, it is part of the Savoy Buildings, which also contain one of the world’s most famous hotels, the Savoy. The restaurant with the feel of the Victorian Era, and patronized by Charles Dickens and Winston Churchill is best known for its table-side meat carving trolley. Also, we doubt you will find a grander setting for a Sunday roast in London. Their signature Yorkshire pudding, shrimps on toast are worth savoring.
