The state of Odisha, in order to promote eco-tourism, has given a nod of approval to 13 new eco-tourism destinations in the state. Out of the 13, ten are earmarked for eco-retreats with overnight stay facilities (lodging), and three are nature camps for day visitors.
Under the new project, new eco cottages will be set up in Kotia and Deomali hilltop in Koraput, Jakam in Kalahandi, Nawana in Simlipal, Silviculture garden in Phulbani, Muhana Muhana (Astaranga) in Puri, Khadakhai dam in Rairangpur, Mahendragiri (Ganjam) in Berhampur, and Kanjipani Ghat and Hadagarh dam in Keonjhar forest division.
Saudi launches a multiple-entry visa for Hayya Card holders
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched a new multi-entry visit visa to the kingdom to ensure easy and organised travel for those attending FIFA World Cup Qatar. This special visa will be available for all those who possess a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Hayya Card.
As per the reports, the Hayya Card, which is issued by Qatar, will be mandatory for all World Cup attendees, and will provide entry to the stadium along with a valid match ticket, access to free public transport on match days, and smart journey planning via the Hayya mobile application. Those in possession of match tickets can apply at hayya.qatar2022.qa or through the Hayya to Qatar 2022 mobile application.
Thailand: Foreign tourists will now be able to extend their stays as COVID eases
As per the latest development, Thailand will now start permitting an extended length of stay for foreign tourists between October and March. This move comes in the wake of supporting its economic recovery as pressures from Covid-19 ease.
As per the latest news reports, foreigners from 18 territories visiting Thailand under the category of visa-on-arrival (VOA) will now be allowed to double their length of stay for up to 30 days. Thailand is hopeful that a rise in tourist arrivals will further help boost its economic growth this year although the pace will likely be the lowest in the Southeast Asia region.
